How to request deletion

1. Email [email protected].
2. Use the subject line Summ account deletion request.
3. Send the request from the Google account connected to your Summ profile.
4. Include any details that help us identify your account, such as your account email.

We may contact you to verify the request before deletion is completed.

What is deleted

When we process a deletion request, we remove the personal data that Summ controls for your account, including:

• your user profile data
• your account record in Firebase Authentication
• your household membership record
• invite records directly associated with your account
• your access to household finance data through Summ

What may be retained

Summ is a shared-household app, so some household data may remain available to other household members if it is still needed for the household to function. That can include shared finance records that belong to the household rather than to one person.

We may also retain limited records when needed for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute handling, or service integrity.

Backup systems and logs may keep limited copies for a short period before they are overwritten or purged.

Retention period

Deletion requests are typically processed within 30 days after verification. Some backup or log data may remain for up to 30 additional days before automatic removal.

Shared household data

If your account is part of a household with other members, deleting your own account does not automatically delete the household for everyone else. Shared household data is handled carefully so other members do not lose access unexpectedly.

If the request affects data owned by the entire household, we may ask for clarification before proceeding.
